Idea Tourism
“It’s possible for a tourist to visit Times Square in New York City, see nothing new or unexpected, and leave the city unchanged.”
How often does this happen in our spiritual life?
- How many times do we attend a church service and leave unchanged? Thus, we don’t return. (Or we only return for Easter and Christmas.)
- How many times do we read our Bible and put it down unchanged? Thus, it collects dust on a book shelf.
- How many times do we pray to God and give it up because we think the circumstances have been left unchanged? Thus, we disconnect for our Savior.
If you want to truly understand the Son, Jesus, then you are going to have to spend some time with him.
Spend time:
- reading your Bible regularly
- praying regularly
- attending church regularly
- meeting with a group of believers regularly

“Only when we try the idea on for size and actually use it do we understand it.”
